The composition of bamboo charcoal is purely carbon ordered as six sided or hexagon holes which are joined together. Bamboo charcoal is an environmentally functional material that has excellent absorption property. The surface area of 300 m²/g makes it an ideal deodorizer, purifier and humidity controller.
Moso bamboo is grown for about 5 years without pollution. After harvesting it is carbonized in an oven at temperatures above 1000°C. Subsequent activation, ultrafine grinding, sieving and sterilization the final bamboo charcoal powder is obtained.
