It was given to children if they had whooping cough with honey or sugar. In Agia Roumeli of Sfakia it was used it against swelling of the spleen. They put and threshed as a poultice to skin irritations.
In Heraklion it was called wild peppermint and was believed that stimulated the "revolutions of the flesh"! So nice girls could not drink it!
The villagers put it in raisins for aroma and to repel bugs. (Blends well with sage, malotira, marjoram and dittany against cold and flu.)
Use: Boil 1-2 teaspoons for a cup of hot water for 7-10 minutes, strain and drink.
(Avoid use of the herb by pregnant women)
The beverage can be drunk 2-3 times a day.
