Helps in the treatment of laryngitis and influenza virus due to its antibacterial action. It stimulates and cleanses the eyes and relieves the inflammation of the eyelids. It acts as an expectorant, softener, tonic, o mild diuretic, mild sedative and healing. It is considered to be excellent for bronchitis when there is intense coughing with throat irritation.

The anti-inflammatory and softening properties make the herb effective in cases of tracheal inflammation and other similar conditions. It works positively on intestinal tract and urinary tract diseases.

For exterior use, cold infusion of the herb in olive oil is excellent for soothing and healing on the surface of the skin. The decoction of the leaves helps exterior in washes for cases of diarrhea and dysentery, for burns of burns, itching or lichen, while the same decoction is laxative.
