Virgin coconut oil contains mainly medium chain fatty acids, the kind of saturated fatty acid that speeds up our metabolism to give us instant energy. In tropical countries, the coconut palm is also called ’the tree of the sky’. It can grow to 30m in height and is a real present from heaven because everything is useable. The wood is used for building, the leaves for roofing and the fruit for cooking, in particular the production of coconut oil.
The coconut is not really a nut in the true sense of the word, but rather a fruit with a stone.
To obtain our virgin coconut oil the pulp is first grated into very fine strips then dried at a controlled temperature and given a first cold pressing in a screw press. The virgin coconut oil solidifies at an ambient temperature of 25 °C and liquefies as soon as it is heated.
